Vein Ablation
Spider Vein Treatment
Spider veins are small, visible blood vessels that appear on the face or body due to
weakened or damaged veins. While they are harmless, they can be a cosmetic concern for many. At Edit IPL and Laser Clinic, we use laser therapy to safely and effectively collapse these veins, allowing the body to naturally absorb them over time through the lymphatic system. This non-invasive treatment improves skin clarity and restores a more even complexion with minimal downtime. Larger areas may need more than one session due to time taken and laser fatigue.

F.A.Q.
What is Spider Vein Ablation:
Spider vein ablation with laser is a minimally invasive treatment using heat to seal off the affected veins, with a short recovery period. Bruising is common, but at Edit we use a Nd:Yag 1064 laser head with a built-in sapphire cooling system to reduce discomfort during treatment and bruising afterwards. The treated veins are then reabsorbed by the body through the lymphatic system.

Recovery:
Patients can usually resume normal activities immediately, though avoiding sun exposure and wearing 50+ Broad Spectrum sunscreen is required.

Is it painful?
Most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure, but the use of our sapphire cooled treatment head reduces this.

How long does the treatment take?
The procedure can take between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the extent of the area to be treated. We stop at an hour to reduce laser fatigue.

How long does the treatment last?
The treated veins are permanently closed off, but new veins can form over time.

Are there any side effects?
Some bruising or swelling may occur, but these are usually mild and temporary.

Is it safe?
Yes, spider vein laser therapy is a safe and effective treatment when undertaken by a fully trained laser technician.
